Security measures (hosted version)

The following is a short explanation of the security that is involved with the hosted version of Tracker. In order to maintain our security some of the setup can not be revealed in a public forum such as our Wiki guide.

  • The Tracker NOC is located at a Rackspace.com facility in Texas.
  • Tracker is on its own private network behind it's own firewall.
  • Each Tracker hosted client has their very own database with their very own site. We are not using a common database and segmenting data via a user or client key.
  • Each client connects to the site via HTTPS. 128bit Encryption.
  • HTTP or Port 80 is not open on any machine. In fact only a few ports are open to any traffic.
  • The SQL database is on a separate machine with no external access. SQL access port 1433 is not open to the Internet.
  • Backups are completed once a day and stored on the Rackspace.com secure backup network.
  • Only required Tracker staff will have access to these servers.
